The Wedding Season is nearly upon us...
Ok, so I maybe getting a little ahead of myself but I’m currently looking for wedding oufit inspitation. I (sorry, being selfish here) have a wedding to go to early July (fingers crossed) and I want to go all OUT on an outfit, because, well, why not hey?! And, I’m thinking that I saved on wedding outfits last year so I have more to spend this year.. I’m guessing I’m not going to be the only one who is going to ‘go for it’ with their wedding outfits this summer.
Firstly, I’m going to self-indulge and look for myself.. I’m 5”10 , hourglass (ish) figure and a size 10-12 (annoying!) And my season is 'Winter' (which means I have cool skin tones with dark hair and eyes). I’m late thirties and my Style Personality is very much 'girl meets boy' (feminine and androgynous and I love a little nod to the trends too).
Here are my top five choices for different figures, palettes and style personalities:
Where to buy...
1. Trouser and top set from Boden.
This is a perfect combination for those who don't like to wear a dress to a wedding. This look is perfect for slim and/or tall women - with a sneak ab flash and unforgiving waist. The top would also be perfect for small busted woman as there is lots of detail to focus on. Great outfit investment as you can obviously mix and match with other pieces in your wardrobe.
2. Check dress from And Other Stories
This dress is perfect to hide lumps and bumps as it is loose fitting. The small check material will also hide any lock down sins! If you are short bodied the low slung waist line will draw down your torso. The sleeves are also flattering, leaving the smallest part of your arms exposed. The dress is fun and you must have the Style Personality to wear with confidence.
3. Floral tea dress from M&S
This is the perfect shape to accentuate an hourglass; the waistline seam will help to create waist definition. The puff sleeve and print add a touch of the romantic feels.
4. Orange silk halterneck dress from And other Stories.
A perfect waist creation (nb. shape wear needed!) The fine pleats will also help to draw the eye down and the fabric will ensure no 'clinginess'. A very pretty and delicate dress and the Orange adds a little edge to the look.
5. Free People trouser and top set
You can see by just looking at the picture this outfit creates a perfect hour glass shape. If you have a bit of a tummy then this cut will hide it. The trousers are also extremely flattering for all shapes and sizes and they look insanely comfortable too - perfect for a long wedding day. You can wear as separates post wedding, so its super versatile.
Newsflash!! I think I have found one for myself... I have ordered a few to try on. I hope I have the discipline to send the rest back!!
